Indian state-run steel producer Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL) Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SMS Group Gmbh, Germany, to develop processes for decarbonization of steelmaking, a company statement said on Tuesday, August 8.
The collaboration will also work towards “laying a path for production of green steel”, the statement said.
SMS Group will provide its technological expertise for design, engineering, equipment supplies, and technical assistance for erection and commissioning of facilities for decarbonization in the steel process and implementation of sustainable steel production in the long term.
