Chicago, Illinois-based service center Ryerson announced a major renovation and expansion to its Columbus, Ohio service center on Thursday. Ryerson Columbus' investment in plate processing machinery will further expand its capacity and capabilities. Ryerson is adding part deburring and part blasting capabilities in addition to equipment that will support high definition plasma cutting, machining, drilling/tapping, surface milling and beveling. New laser measuring capabilities will also ensure conformance to customers' ever-tightening quality requirements, Ryerson said in a press release. The Ryerson Columbus expansion is on schedule to be completed in August 2012.

"This investment in Columbus, along with our ideal central location in the marketplace will allow us to better meet the needs of our customers for semi-fabricated products and finished parts," said Michael Burbach, President of Ryerson Midwest.
