According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal State Statistics Service, in September this year Russia increased its output of steel pipes by 5.6 percent to 635,000 mt, compared to August. Meanwhile, during the first nine months of 2009 the country's total output of steel pipes decreased by 25.7 percent year on year to 4.7 million mt.
In September, Russia increased its output of seamless pipes by 6.3 percent to 181,000 mt, it raised its production of welded pipes (excluding electric welded pipes) by 18.8 percent to 21,500 mt, and upped its output of electric welded pipes by 4.7 percent to 432,000 mt, all compared to August. Meanwhile, in January-September this year the country's output of seamless pipes went down by 32.5 percent, its production of welded pipes decreased by 34.2 percent, while its output of electric welded pipes declined by 21.8 percent, all compared to the same period last year.
Russian production of casing pipes increased in September by 21.7 percent month on month to 55,900 mt, while in the first nine months of this year the figure dropped by 25.3 percent year on year. In September this year, the country also registered an increase in its tubing output of 3.1 percent month on month to 35,300 mt. Meanwhile, Russia's production of drill pipes went up in September by 2.1 times to 2,200 mt, whereas in January-September the figure decreased by 53.1 percent year on year.
