Russia's steel exports to the US rose 24.5 percent year on year to 815'920 metric tons (mt) in the first half of 2005. Russia exported approximately 128'620 mt of steel to the US in August. Russia's steel exports to the US amounted to 2.185 million mt in 2004, up 640 percent year on year.
