Russia’s Ashinskiy sees steel output rise 9.1 percent in January-May

According to its results for the January-May period of the current year, Russian steelmaker Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works produced 322,347 mt of steel products in the given period, showing a 9.1 percent increase compared to the same period of last year. This production figure includes 316,416 mt of slabs - up 11.52 percent year on year. During the period in question, Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works produced 260,265 mt of rolled steel - up 3.3 percent compared to January-May 2010.

In May alone, Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works produced 73,477 mt of steel products, showing a 12.3 percent increase compared to May 2010. This production figure included 73,070 mt of slabs - up 17.15 percent year on year. During the month in question, Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works produced 55,468 mt of rolled steel - up 16.17 percent compared to May 2010.
