Russia’s Ashinskiy sees 16 percent increase in Jan-Nov steel output

According to its data issued for the first 11 months of the current year, Russian steel producer Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works (Ashinskiy) registered a 16 percent increase year on year in its steel output to 664,282 mt, including 620,559 mt of slabs - up 14.6 percent year on year.

In January-November, Ashinskiy produced 538,865 mt of rolled steel products - up 11.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

In addition, during the period in question Ashinskiy's deliveries of steel plates increased by 19.7 percent year on year to 498,475 mt. Of this figure, 376,728 mt of plates were delivered to the Russian domestic market - up 62.2 percent year on year, about 72,636 mt were exported to non-CIS countries - down about 3.9 times, and 15,555 mt were delivered to CIS countries - down 14.4 percent, all compared to January-November 2009.
