According to the information issued by the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy, up to December 31, 2009 Ukraine utilized 31.71 percent of its annual quota for rebar exports to Russia and 48.87 percent of its new annual quota for cold rolled steel exports to the same destination, supplying a total of 115,097 metric tons and 102,620 metric tons respectively.
According to the agreement between Russia and Ukraine, the 2009 yearly quota for Ukraine regarding rebar exports to Russia was 363,000 metric tons, including 54,450 metric tons for the first quarter, 127,050 metric tons for the second quarter, 127,050 metric tons for the third quarter, and 54,450 metric tons for the fourth quarter of 2009.
For 2010, Ukraine's annual quota for rebar exports to Russia was determined at 400,000 metric tons, including 60,000 metric tons for the first and fourth quarters respectively, and 140,000 metric tons for the second and third quarters of the year.
Meanwhile, also according to the agreement signed between the countries, Ukraine's yearly quota for cold rolled exports to Russia stands at 210,000 metric tons for the 12 months from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010.
