The Siemens Group Industrial Solutions and Services (I&S) has received an order from Russian steel trading company Kashira for the installation of a continuous hot dip galvanizing (HDG) line at Kashira near Moscow. The new line, which will have a steel-strip-coating capacity of 215,000 tons per annum, is scheduled to commence operations in September 2007. The galvanized steel products produced at the line will be used in the household appliance and construction industries. Siemens had received similar contracts from this region before. In 2004, Siemens VAI installed a color-coating line at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK). Also a new pickling line will be started up by Siemens in early 2008 at Zaporizhstal JSC in the Ukraine.
