Russian coal output rises in 2011

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in 2011 Russia produced 334.753 million mt of coal, up 4.3 percent compared to the same period last year. In December alone, Russia increased coal output by 2.4 percent year on year to 31,886 million mt.

According to the data for 2011, Russia's coal exports increased by 8.5 percent compared to 2010 to 104.656 million mt. In December alone, Russia exported 8.509 million mt of coal, up 22.8 percent compared to December 2010.
