Russian coal exports up 17.3 percent in Q1

In the first quarter of the current year, Russian coal exports increased by 17.3 percent year on year to 35.819 million mt, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat). In March alone, Russia exported 12.123 million mt of coal, up 9.1 percent year on year.

In March, Russia produced 28.753 million mt of coal, down 3.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
