Following consultations between Russia and Ukraine regarding the self-limitation of Ukrainian rebar supplies to Russia, the latter has determined yearly quota levels for exports of Ukrainian rebar to Russia.

According to the proposed agreement, Russia's quota for Ukrainian rebar exports has been set at a level of 114,000 metric tons for the period from August 14 to December 31, at a level of 330,000 metric tons for 2008, at 363,000 metric tons for 2009 and 440,000 metric tons for 2010. In addition, a mechanism for even quota fulfillment is to be introduced.

At present the parties are preparing an agreement on the issue.
