Russia issues January production results

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in the first month of the current year Russia registered a 3.6 percent decline in its rolled steel product output to 4.7 million mt, a 0.5 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 5.8 million mt, and a one percent increase in its pig iron production to 4.4 million mt, all year on year. In the given period, Russia saw a five percent decrease year on year in its steel pipe production to 711,000 mt.

In addition, in January this year Russia produced 28.5 million mt of coal, up 2.3 percent year on year, and 2.3 million mt of metallurgical coke, up 2.6 percent year on year.
