Rio Tinto said that its iron ore shipments will be impacted by the Australian cyclone season in recent years. Australian iron ore producer Rio Tinto has issued new force majeure declarations for its two iron ore units after tropical cyclone Glenda. “We are saying that tonnage and timing of shipments will be impacted” said a spokeswoman from Rio Tinto. “Rail and mining operations are continuing at a reduced capacity due to the cumulative effects of previous cyclones”. New cyclone Hubert is expected to hit Australia's Northwest coast.
