RINL to set up forged wheel facility

Indian state-owned steel producer Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian Railways for setting up a forged wheel facility at Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, according to Press Information Bureau of India.

RINL's forged wheel facility with an annual capacity of 100,000 wheels will produce special grade wheels for high speed trains. The construction of the facility that will cost around INR10 billion ($182 million) will be completed within 36 months.

RINL's Vishakhapatnam plant will provide continuous cast round billets to feed the forged wheel facility.
