Railway investments in China down significantly in Jan-Aug

On September 10, China's Ministry of Railways announced that during the January-August period of the current year fixed asset investment in the Chinese railway sector totaled RMB 274.20 billion ($43.27 billion), down by RMB 86.23 billion ($13.6 billion) year on year. In particular, investment in actual construction of railways in China in the given period totaled RMB 227.77 billion ($35.94 billion), decreasing by RMB 88.70 billion ($13.68 billion) year on year.
