Hebei Province-based Qinhuangdao Shougang Plate Co., Ltd, an affiliate of major Chinese steelmaker Shougang Group, has stated that it expects to produce 50,000 mt of pipeline steel in December. In the December 1-20 period, the steelmaking department of Qinhuangdao Shougang Plate produced 37,752 mt of pipeline steel, which is an all-time record output for the company over a 20-day period. The producer's semi-finished output for the same period was 148,000 mt, with an average daily output of 7,400 mt.
At present, Shougang Group can produce pipeline steel products from grade B to grade X80 grade, with its main products supplying key national oil and gas transmission projects and overseas projects. Output of X70 and X80 premium grade products accounts for over 60 percent of Shougang Group's total pipeline steel output. Already a key supplier to China National Petroleum Corporation, Shougang Group recently became a key supplier to China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation.
