Private companies in Iran reportedly started conducting 48 steel projects. The projects, which are expected to cost around $1.9 billion, will increase the country's steel production by 30 million tons. On the other hand, the projects that are conducted by state-owned companies, once completed, will add 17.4 million tons to the country's steel production capacity. Iran's raw steel output is expected to reach 47.4 million tons by the end of the Fourth Development Plan, sources report.
