According to a report released by Poland's Automotive Market Research Institute (SAMAR), in May this year Poland's production of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) saw a decrease of 1.3 percent year on year, totaling 76,500 units, while a month-on-month decline of six percent was recorded. This was the second decrease on month-on-month basis following a rising trend for three consecutive months.
In the first five months of 2010, the country's motor vehicle production amounted to 401,326 units, rising by 7.4 percent over the corresponding period of 2009.
Meanwhile, in May Poland's passenger car output reached 68,797 units, a new low so far this year, decreasing by 4.6 percent year on year, while year-to-date passenger car production rose by 5.2 percent year on year to 366,259 units.
