Peru’s iron ore production decreased in November

Iron ore production at Peruvian steelmaker Shougang Hierro Peru decreased 16.6 percent in November, year-on-year, according to data released this week from the nation’s mines and energy ministry.

According to government data, iron ore production at Shougang Hierro Peru reached 481,532 mt in November, down from 577,297 a year ago. From January to November, the company’s production increased by 9.7 percent to 6.85 million mt.

Shougang is Peru’s only iron ore producer.
