Pakistan’s National Tariff Commission has announced the affirmative preliminary determinations in the antidumping duty (AD) investigations of imports of cold rolled coil (CRC) from Canada and Russia.
Pakistan’s steel industry is threatened with material injury by imports of these products from Russia and Canada that have been found to be sold in Pakistan at less than normal value, the commission stated. The investigation was launched following the complaint by Karachi-based Pakistani steel producers Aisha Steel Mills Limited and International Steel Limited.
The commission has assigned a preliminary dumping rate of 13.94 percent on the imports of the investigated products from Russia and Canada for a period of four months effective from September 20, 2019.
The products subject to investigation currently fall under the Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7209.1510, 7209.1590, 7209.1610, 7209.1690, 7209.1710, 7209.1790, 7209.1810, 7209.1890, 7209.1891, 7209.1899, 7209.2510, 7209.2590, 7209.2610, 7209.2690, 7209.2710, 7209.2790, 7209.2810, 7209.2890 and 7211.2920.
The commission is scheduled to announce its final determinations within 180 days of the publication of the preliminary determinations.
