Pakistan’s National Tariff Commission has concluded its second sunset review of antidumping duty on imports of steel billets from China, confirming the continuation of a 24.04 percent antidumping duty.
The measure will remain in force for five years starting from June 22, 2025, following the original imposition in 2017 and a first review in 2022. The latest decision was based on trade data covering the period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2024.
However, the regulation includes key exemptions. Imports used as inputs for export-oriented production or for foreign grant-in-aid projects may be exempt from the duty, provided they meet the requirements under Pakistan’s Customs Act of 1969.
