NWR’s coking coal prices down two percent for Q3

Central Europe-based miner New World Resources Plc (NWR) has announced that it has reached agreements with its customers for coking coal and coke sales for the third quarter of 2012.

Accordingly, NWR has set the average agreed price of coking coal for delivery in the third quarter of this year at €129/mt, down two percent compared to the second quarter realized price. In addition, NWR's average price agreed for coke sales during the third quarter is €294/mt, decreasing by one percent compared to the second quarter realized price.

NWR also announced its production and sales results for the second quarter and the first half of 2012. While it produced 3.4 million mt of coking and thermal coal and 174,000 mt of coke in the second quarter, its sales volumes of coking coal and coke in the quarter were 1.38 million mt and 148,000 mt respectively. In the first six months of the current year, the coking and thermal coal output of the company amounted to 5.77 million mt and the coke output was 349,000 mt. In the same period, coking coal and coke sales were 2.67 million mt and 303,000 mt respectively.
