After Tejas Tubular Products announced recently that it will build a new plant in Norfolk, Nebraska, Nucor Corp., which supplies approximately 150,000 tons of steel for Tejas’ casing, drill pipe, and line pipe products, announced this week that it plans to expand its Norfolk facility.

The expansion will involve a $70 million investment in the plant’s melt shop to increase productivity by over 20 percent, according to Nucor Steel Norfolk General Manager Dirk Peterson.  The expansion will be complete by the first quarter of 2015, around the same time when Tejas aims to have their new Norfolk facility fully operational.
