NLMK relaunches electric arc furnace at long steel division

Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced that its Urals-based long steel division NSMMZ has relaunched the second 1.1 million mt per year capacity electric arc furnace at its Revda steelmaking facility, after repairs at the plant which continued since mid-2011.

The repair work was carried out by a local engineering company at a total cost of RUR 22 million (approximately $710,000).

NSMMZ's two electric arc furnaces are currently operating at planned capacities.
