Nippon Coke posts increased income for FY 2009-10

Japanese coke producer Nippon Coke & Engineering Company, Limited has issued its financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 ended on March 31.
 
According to the financial results, in comparison to FY 2008-09, net income in FY 2009-10 improved by 139 percent from Yen 2 billion to Yen 4.8 billion ($52.4 million). The operating income of the company was Yen 5.9 billion ($64.4 million) in FY 2009-10, compared with an operating income of Yen 12.2 billion in the previous fiscal year, decreasing by 51 percent. Sales revenues in FY 2009-10 decreased by 50.4 percent year on year from Yen 191.3 billion to Yen 94 billion ($1.02 billion).
 

In FY 2010-11, the company expects to increase its sales revenues, operating income and net income by 39.6 percent, 83.5 percent and 29.3 percent respectively on year-on-year basis.
