NBS: Local Chinese rebar prices down 0.3 percent in early April 2026

In early April (April 1-10) this year, the average price in China of 20 mm HRB 400E rebar decreased by RMB 10.2/mt ($1.5/mt) or 0.3 percent to RMB 3,181.6/mt ($463/mt), compared to the price in late March (March 21-31), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics. In the given period, the average prices of wire rod, medium steel plate and hot rolled coil (HRC) decreased by 0.9 percent, 0.1 percent and 0.6 percent, respectively, the average price of seamless steel pipes remained stable, while the average price of angles rose by 0.1 percent, all compared to late March.
