MOC: Average finished steel price in China down 0.8 percent

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (January 2-8) the overall average finished steel price in China decreased by 0.8 percent week on week.

In the given week, average prices of rebar, hot rolled strip and high-speed wire rod in China declined by 1.0 percent, 1.0 percent and 0.9 percent week on week, respectively.

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China increased by 0.2 percent week on week. The average price of nickel (Ni> = 99.2%) declined by 0.8 percent compared to the previous week.

In the week in question, the average price of coal in China fluctuated within a limited range. In particular, the average prices of anthracite coal increased by 0.5 percent week on week, while the average prices of thermal coal and coking coal both declined by 0.2 percent week on week.
