MMK recommissions blast furnace No. 7

The Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that, following second category capital repairs, it has recommissioned its blast furnace No. 7.

Accordingly, MMK's blast furnace No. 7 was stopped for repairs in October this year. The repairs included the replacement of the furnace's main equipment, and was completed in 55 days.

MMK's blast furnace No. 7 was commissioned in October 1952. Reconstruction of the furnace was last carried out in 2002. The production capacity of the furnace is 3,200 mt of pig iron per day.
