Russia-based mining and steelmaking company Mechel announced that coal mining at its subsidiary Southern Kuzbass Coal Company's New-Olzherassk underground mine's long wall No. 21-1-7 has been resumed.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, the mining activities at the long wall were suspended due to high levels of carbon monoxide caused by coal self-heating at the mine.
