Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) managed to diminish its net loss to $164 million in the full year of 2016, from $269 million in 2015, the company announced this week while releasing its full-year and Q4 results.

AHMSA’s net revenues for the full year 2016 totaled $2.59 billion, 0.35 percent down from full year 2015 revenue of $2.61 billion.

AHMSA said steel sales volumes in Q4 rose 10.1 percent, year-on-year, to 382,397 mt, due to an increased mix of steel products sold, combined with efficiency and cost reduction programs.
