Mexico to increase steel output

Mexico's iron and steel output reached 16.4 million tons in 2005. In 2006, iron and steel output is expected to increase 5.5 percent year on year to around 17 million tons. Mexico's iron and steel output has been recorded as 16.7 million tons in 2004. According to the recent reports, Mexico's iron and steel exports amounted to 6 million tons in 2005 and imports reached 6.8 million tons.
