Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, has opened an existing ferroalloys norm of Canacero, the local steel association, for public consultation, the Mexican government said this week.

According to a notice published this week at the nation’s official gazette, Diario Oficial (DOF), the PROY-NMX-B-449-CANACERO-2017 should replace the NMX-B-449-1991 norm.

The Mexican government said the proposed PROY-NMX-B-449-CANACERO-2017 regulation sets the methods used for determining the elements of different ferroalloys and alloys through which iron and steel products can be produced.

The norm is opened for consultation for the next 60 days, SE said.
