Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, has commenced a sunset review on the imports of steel nails from China, following a request from domestic producers Clavos Nacionales de Mexico and Deacero.

The product subject to the sunset review falls under the Mexican HS code 7317.00.99. SE said the sunset review period goes from July 1st, 2018, to June 30, 2019, while the period of analysis starts on July 1st, 2014, and ends on June 30, 2019.

SE had first set on May 16, 2011 a five-year definite anti-dumping (AD) duty of between $0.50 per kilogram and $0.54/kg, the equivalent to $500-$540/mt, for imports of the products. On November 10, 2015, SE renewed the AD duties for a further five-year period.
