Mexico increases car output in August

In August this year, domestic car sales in the Mexican auto industry rose 6.7 percent on month-on-month basis and were up 10.1 percent compared to the same month of 2011, amounting to 83,326 units, according to the Mexican Association of the Automobile Industry (AMIA).

Mexican total car production totaled 248,835 units in August this year, rising 4.5 percent compared to July and up 12.3 percent year on year. 205,969 of the total car production were exported in August, rising by 14.3 percent compared to August 2011.
