Mexican car output, domestic sales increase in February

Both Mexican car output and domestic sales increased in February, year-on-year, the nation’s automotive industry association, AMIA, said on Monday.
 
According to AMIA, the country’s auto production in February rose 11.1 percent year-on-year to 301,475 units. Domestic sales increased by 6.5 percent year-on-year to 117,976 units.
Mexican auto exports also improved in February, from 219,670 units in February 2016 to 240,909 units this year, a 9.7 percent increase, year-on-year.
 
As for the cumulative period of January to February, Mexican auto production increased 7.7 percent year-on-year to 580,017 units, while exports increased 4.5 percent to 452,591 units, and domestic sales increased 4.7 percent to 241,236 units.
