The iron ore subsidiaries of the Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) have issued their production results for the first eight months of 2009.
Accordingly, in the January-August period Metinvest iron ore subsidiary Central GOK (CGOK) maintained its pellets output at the level of the same period last year, i.e., at 1.502 million mt. However, during the period in question, its concentrate production went down by 31.9 percent year on year to 2.974 million mt.
During the first eight months of 2009, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced 8.73 million mt of concentrate - down 9.6 percent year on year, and 5.68 million mt of pellets - down 26 percent.
Meanwhile, Metinvest's Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) during the period in question registered a 32.3 percent decrease year on year in its concentrate output, to 6.925 million mt.
