Metalloinvest’s Q3 iron ore output down slightly from Q2 levels

Metalloinvest, a leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI) producer based in Russia, has announced its operational results for the third quarter of the current year.

Accordingly, in the given quarter Metalloinvest's iron ore production decreased by 1.1 percent quarter on quarter to 9.5 million mt. Its iron ore shipments, meanwhile, decreased by 12.5 percent quarter on quarter in the same period to 2.649 million mt.

Metalloinvest's pellet production and shipment volumes in the third quarter amounted to 5.716 million mt and 3.496 million mt, up 4.2 percent and 6.4 percent respectively, both quarter on quarter.

Metalloinvest saw a 2.7 percent quarter-on-quarter decrease in HBI/direct reduced iron (DRI) production in the third quarter of the current year to 1.273 million mt and a 3.6 percent decrease in shipment volumes to 597,000 mt compared to the previous quarter.

In the third quarter, Metalloinvest's crude steel production was down one percent to 1.113 million mt, while its pig iron output increased by 0.5 percent to 550,000 mt, both quarter on quarter.
