Metalloinvest’s iron ore output down 3.5% in 2013

Metalloinvest, a leading global iron ore and HBI (hot briquetted iron) producer based in Russia, has announced its operational results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2013.

In 2013, Metalloinvest's iron ore output declined by 3.5 percent year on year to 38.371 million mt, while iron ore shipments decreased by 11.3 percent year on year to 11.109 million mt. In the fourth quarter last year, the company's iron ore production rose by 0.8 percent quarter on quarter to 9.6 million mt.

Metalloinvest's pellet production amounted to 22.556 million mt in 2013, down 0.3 percent year on year, while its pellet shipments in the given year decreased by 2.3 percent year on year to 13.737 million mt. Pellet production in the fourth quarter amounted to 5.7 million mt, unchanged from the third quarter.

In 2013, Metalloinvest's crude steel production decreased by 16.7 percent year on year to 4.680 million mt.
