Metalloinvest holds merger talks with ISD

One of Russia's largest steel and iron ore producers Metalloinvest Holding (Metalloinvest) is reportedly in merger talks with the Ukrainian steel holding Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD) to create a company with crude steel production capacity of up to 20 million metric tons a year. Metalloinvest has confirmed that talks between the companies are currently taking place but refused to specify the nature of the talks. ISD, on the other hand, declined to comment.
