Mechel’s Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant to supply rails for Moscow Metro

Russian mining and steel group Mechel’s subsidiary Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant has announced that it will supply about 35,000 mt of rail products for the construction of the second ring of the Moscow Metro, which will connect the remote districts of Moscow. The contract amount is about RUB 1.5 billion ($25.99 million).

The company stated that the rails will be produced at its universal rail mill, which was commissioned in 2013. To modernize Russia's transport infrastructure, Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant has already produced more than half a million mt of rails.
