Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and metals companies, has announced that it has signed a long-term partnership agreement with Belarusian manufacturer of haulage and earthmoving equipment BelAZ.

Under the partnership agreement, BelAZ will supply mining dump trucks to Mechel's enterprises, as well as spare parts for the trucks. The agreement also includes the certification of a Mechel subsidiary as one of BelAZ's service centers in the Russian Federation.

According to Mechel's statement, Mechel Group's mining division plans to use the mining dump trucks mainly at the Elga coal deposit, which has estimated reserves of 2.2 billion mt of coking coal.
