Mechel issues Q1 operational results

Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and steel groups, in the first quarter of 2010 continued to see a recovery in its production volume compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, in Q1 2010, Mechel increased its coking coal concentrate output by 230 percent, its ferrochrome output  by 186 percent, steel output by 30 percent, coke output by 76 percent, rolled products output  by 44 percent and hardware output  by 46 percent, all compared to Q1 2009.
