MARZINC Marmara Geri Kazanım San. ve Tic. A.Ş. (MARZINC), founded in 2007 by Marmara Region-based Turkish steelmakers Çolakoğlu Metalurji, İçdaş, Diler Demir Çelik, Kaptan Demir Çelik and Kroman, will commission its recovery plant located in Karabuk Organized Industry Zone, in the northern Turkish province of Zonguldak, in November this year.

MARZINC chairman Ugur Dalbelere stated that cold testing will be completed at the end of September, while hot testing is planned to start at the end of October.

The plant in question will recover zinc oxide from electric arc furnace flue dust released during iron and steel production. The zinc oxide is aimed to be exported as raw material for zinc production facilities.

The commissioning of the plant will enable the recovery of approximately 200,000 mt of electric arc furnace flue dust. EAF flue dust will be provided by the five steelmakers which are also the founding partners of MARZINC.
