The Italian pipe producer Marcegaglia is currently looking into the possibility of constructing a new pipe mill in the Russian federal republic of Bashkiria, local officials have stated.

At present, Marcegaglia is negotiating terms of agreement with the authorities in Bashkiria.

Marcegaglia is proposing to build a mill for the production of electro-welded pipes. If the parties agree on the terms, the mill will be completed in 2009-2010.
