Lusosider increases sales and investments

Portuguese hot dipped galvanized steel sheet and electrolytic tinplate producer Lusosider is planning to increase its sales by 10% to 320'000 tons in 2004. The company also aims to reach 350'000 tons in 2005. Lusosider reported its sales as 292'000 tons for 2003, up by 5% compared to 2002. 86% of the sales was made to the customers in Spain and Portugal. In addition, company's two year investment plan has been approved. Lusosider will invest €4 million in 2004 for technological improvements and expansion of the annual production capacity of its pickling line by 100'000 tons to 400'000 tons.
