Liuzhou Steel commissions two new projects

Guangxi Autonomous Region-based Chinese steelmaker Liuzhou Iron and Steel Co. has announced that its phase one auxiliary project and phase two technical upgrade project have commenced production operations.
 
Based on the company’s former phase one 1,550 mm cold rolled sheet project with an annual output of 800,000 mt of annealed cold rolled coil and sheet, construction of the projects in question was carried out by WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited (formerly Wuhan Iron and Steel Design & Research Incorporation), a subsidiary of Metallurgical Corporation of China.
 
According to Liuzhou Steel, the phase one auxiliary project is expected to increase annual production capacity by 600,000 mt to achieve an annual output capacity of 1.4 million mt of annealed cold rolled coil and sheet. The phase two technical upgrade project involved construction of a 1,250 mm pickling line with an annual output capacity of over 800,000 mt.
