Kureinsky mine to be developed by MMK

The winner at the end of the tender for Kureinsky mine in the Kemerovo region in Russia is Magnitogorsk Metal Plant (MMK). The company had already started a project to reconstruct the Uregolskaya coking coal mine in the region and annual extraction around 750'000 tons was supplied from there in 2004. The company aims at reducing its steel production costs with the new deposit holding more than 300 million tons reserves.
