Kumba to participate in Faleme iron ore project in Senegal

South African metals and mining company Kumba Resources Limited (KMB) has recently signed an agreement with Miferso, a project development company owned by Senegal government, to conduct feasibility study in the Faleme iron ore deposit, located in the south-eastern region of Senegal. The project is a part of Kumba's plan of strengthening its market position in Africa. In line with the deal, Kumba will conduct feasibility study for ten months to find out whether the mine can supply iron ore for at least 20 years. In return for the feasibility study, Miferso will fund the project and develop rail and port infrastructure.
