Kazakhstan’s crude steel output down 39 percent in January-May

In the January-May period this year, Kazakhstan's crude steel production declined by 39 percent year on year to 1.455 million mt, according to the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the given period, its flat steel production totaled 945,200 mt, up 13 percent year on year.

In the ferroalloys segment, in the January-May period Kazakhstan's production rose by 4.1 percent year on year to 918,800 mt, SteelOrbis has learned.
