According to the State Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan, in the January-July period of the current year Kazakhstan produced 2.330 million mt of crude steel, down 20.5 percent year on year. In July alone, the country produced 342,500 mt of crude steel, up 0.2 percent month on month.
Production of flat steel in Kazakhstan in the January-July period of this year decreased by 14.6 percent to 1.626 million mt, while domestic production of galvanized rolled steel in this period declined by 12.8 percent to 319,300 mt, both year on year.
In the first seven months of 2012, Kazakhstan saw its ferroalloy production rise by 0.6 percent year on year to 989,600 mt.
